Where the windsurf journey goes
Fuerteventura is one of the 7 Canary Islands and is called the Hawaii of Europe. Beautiful sandy beaches with turquoise blue water and plenty of nightlife in Corralejo city centre will make your windsurfing holiday an unforgettable experience. The name Fuerteventura derives from “Fuerte” and “Viento” and means as much as “strong wind”. Especially the summer months are very windy. Windsurfers will get their money’s worth on this great island.
The windsurf hostel Fuerteventura
For your Fuerteventura windsurfing lesson, you can relax in the cosy surf hostel Sol y Mar, which is located directly in the tourist resort called Corralejo in the north of Fuerteventura. The Flag Beach Watersports Center and one of the windsurfing spots with best wind conditions is located directly on the white sandy beach. Depending on the wind conditions, your windsurfing instructor chooses the best beach. The picturesque dune landscape also gives you enough space to practice on land.

Of course, multilingual licensed windsurfing instructors accompany you on your 3 days Fuerteventura windsurf lesson. The windsurfing course includes both, practice and theory units. Your windsurfing instructor will respond to your needs individuel. Best windsurfing material is of course included as well as the transfer from your surf hostel to the beach and back again.
Day 1:
3-4 hours theory about the topics wind, currents, safety and equipment. You learn how to mount a windsurf sail properly and then you also go into the water to practice your first standing attempts.
Day 2 and 3:
These days are meant to practice on the water. You will learn to sail with and against the wind for 3-4 hours each and how to turn and steer.
At the end of your 3-day windsurfing course, you will receive a level 1 windsurfing certificate.
